Vocations

Vocations in Kortstrid are a future update that is set to release with the development of new game modes, including the idle RPG mode. These vocations will provide players with an entirely new set of skills and abilities, as well as a whole new set of ingredients to gather and craft with. Each vocation will have its unique set of crafting recipes, allowing players to create new and exciting items that will aid them in their adventures across the Jotunn landscape. These new vocations will provide an exciting and immersive way for players to engage with Kortstrid and expand their gameplay experience. The vocations listed below are not all inclusive and will expand further.

Vocations of the Hand:

The Vocations of the Hand focus on creating goods and wares that are used by Kortstrid heroes in battle. The five job titles include: Blacksmith, Tailor, Enchanter, Tinkerer, and Alchemist. Each vocation has specific tools and ingredients that are required to craft their items.

  • Blacksmiths use hammers, tongs, and anvils to create weapons and armor. They can find iron ore, coal, and leather to craft items.

  • Tailors use needles, thread, and looms to create cloth-based armor and accessories. They can find wool, silk, and leather to craft items.

  • Enchanters use magical tomes and crystals to imbue weapons and armor with powerful properties. They can find enchanted gems and mystical dust to craft items.

  • Tinkerers use gears, springs, and screws to create gadgets and traps. They can find scrap metal, oil, and rare gems to craft items.

  • Alchemists use cauldrons, alembics, and vials to create potions and bombs. They can find herbs, mushrooms, and animal parts to craft items.

Vocations of the Land:

The Vocations of the Land involve harvesting and gathering resources from the land of Jotunn. The five job titles include: Farmer, Lumberjack, Miner, Fisher, and Hunter. Each vocation has specific tools and ingredients that are required to gather their resources.

  • Farmers use hoes, shovels, and watering cans to grow crops. They can find seeds and fertilizers to grow their crops.

  • Lumberjacks use axes, saws, and chisels to harvest wood from trees. They can find various types of trees to harvest.

  • Miners use pickaxes, shovels, and dynamite to mine ores and minerals from the ground. They can find various types of ore veins to mine.

  • Fishers use fishing rods, nets, and traps to catch fish and other aquatic creatures. They can find various types of fish in different bodies of water.

  • Hunters use bows, traps, and snares to hunt animals and other creatures. They can find various types of game in different regions of Jotunn.

Vocation of the Sea:

The Vocation of the Sea involves venturing into the vast oceans and deep underwater caves to find and harvest resources. The five job titles include: Sailor, Diver, Shipwright, Navigator, and Cartographer. Each vocation has specific tools and ingredients that are required to explore the sea.

  • Sailors use ships and boats to navigate the ocean and reach different locations. They can find various types of ships to sail on and materials to repair them.

  • Divers use diving suits and air tanks to explore underwater caves and ruins. They can find various types of treasures and artifacts in the depths of the sea.

  • Shipwrights use wood, metal, and other materials to build and repair ships. They can find various types of wood and metal ores in the sea.

  • Navigators use maps, compasses, and astrolabes to chart the ocean and locate hidden islands and treasures. They can find maps and other navigation tools to help them on their journeys.

  • Cartographers use ink, parchment, and quills to create maps and charts of the sea. They can find different types of maps and atlases to help them chart the ocean.

Vocation of the Astral Plane:

The Vocation of the Astral Plane is a mystical and enigmatic profession that deals with the manipulation and understanding of the metaphysical realm. The practitioners of this vocation are able to harness the raw energy of the astral plane and channel it into powerful spells and enchantments. The five job titles for the Vocation of the Astral Plane are:

  • Astral Alchemist - This job involves crafting magical potions and elixirs using rare ingredients found throughout the Jotunn landscape. Tools used include a cauldron, an alembic, and a mortar and pestle. Ingredients include starry silver leaves, moonstone crystals, and essence of astral projection.

  • Dimensional Cartographer - This job involves mapping out the various planes and dimensions within Kortstrid. Tools used include a compass, sextant, and a telescope. Ingredients include astral dust, celestial essence, and planar fragments.

  • Astral Archeologist - This job involves discovering and uncovering ancient artifacts and relics from the Astral Plane. Tools used include a shovel, pickaxe, and a brush. Ingredients include ancient runes, astral fossils, and cosmic crystals.

  • Starweaver - This job involves weaving intricate and powerful magical spells using starlight and astral energies. Tools used include a wand, a spellbook, and a focus crystal. Ingredients include starry silk, astral essence, and stardust.

  • Dream Weaver - This job involves manipulating the dreams and thoughts of other beings through the power of the Astral Plane. Tools used include a dreamcatcher, a quill, and a candle. Ingredients include dream mist, nightmare essence, and astral feathers.
