How To Play

Kortstrid TCG is an engaging and strategic trading card game set in the mystical world of Jotunn. The game is played on a 4x4 grid and features various card types, including heroes, companions, and elemental cards. In this guide, we will provide an overview of the game rules and mechanics, giving you the knowledge needed to dive into the thrilling battles of Kortstrid TCG.

Building Your Deck

To start, each player must assemble a deck of 8 cards. The first 5 cards are randomly selected for you, while the remaining 3 cards are placed face down to the side. As you play, you will draw from this pile to replenish your hand after placing a card on the board.

Deck Rarity Restrictions

  • Common: 8

  • Uncommon: 8

  • Rare: 8

  • Legendary: 4

  • Epic: 3

Setting Up the Game

Kortstrid is played on a 4x4 grid with a total of 16 spaces. Each card has numbers on each side to represent its strength, which can be affected by various modifiers such as Elemental, Damage Type, Defense, and Weakness.

At the start of the game, one player is randomly chosen to go first. Players then take turns placing a card on an empty space on the board.

Release Stage Mechanics

  • Card capturing is decided solely by Attack

  • Training mode decides card placement based off of a single card by the opponent

  • Rewards are not yet enabled

  • Card capturing is decided by Attack, Strength, Defense, and Wekness Modifiers

  • Training mode decides card placement based off of multiple cards for effectiveness

  • Preleminary rewards are enabled like Banners and Avatars

  • Card capturing is decided by all relevant aspects of the card

  • Training mode has multiple difficulty levels to choose from

  • All in-game rewards are enabled

Capturing Opponent's Cards

When you place a card adjacent to an opponent's card, compare the numbers on the touching sides. If your card's number is higher than your opponent's, you capture their card. Additional modifiers will be automatically calculated, so be aware of the attributes of each card.

Winning and Losing

The game continues until all 16 spaces on the board are filled. The player who controls the most cards at the end is declared the winner.

  • Winning: The winner receives a larger amount of Deca Energy, Experience, upgrade materials, and a higher chance to be rewarded with a playing card.

  • Losing: The loser receives a smaller amount of Deca Energy, Experience, upgrade materials, and a much lower chance to be rewarded with a playing card.

  • Ties: In the case of a tie, both players receive a small amount of Deca Energy, upgrade materials, and a 0% chance to acquire a new playing card.

With these rules in mind, you are now ready to engage in the thrilling battles of Kortstrid TCG. Remember to strategize, consider card attributes and modifiers, and most importantly, enjoy the game!
