In the world of Kortstrid, a prophecy whispered through the ages spoke of the coming of heroes, each hailing from the twelve primary elemental regions of Jotunn. These heroes would arise to protect their realm from an imminent, overwhelming darkness. With each passing generation, the prophecy ingrained itself deeper into the hearts and minds of the people, becoming an integral part of their beliefs and culture.

Born into different regions and diverse circumstances, the Kortstrid heroes had no knowledge of their shared destiny. Each of them was exceptionally skilled in their respective hero class - Conjurer, Ravager, Brawler, Warlord, Bowman, Templar Knight, and Summoner. Despite their differences, they all felt a mysterious connection to one another, an inexplicable bond that they couldn't comprehend.

Throughout their lives, the heroes experienced vivid dreams and visions, which were fragments of a shared history that eluded their conscious minds. In a desperate attempt to save Jotunn, the remaining uncorrupted council members performed a powerful ritual, sealing away Chaos and its minions. As part of the ritual, the council members sacrificed their physical forms and bound their souls to the essence of the elements, hoping that their spirits would live on and guide future generations.
